Overnight gales or severe gales possible across Scotland first thing, along with some heavy rain or showers. Wet and windy weather with heavy rain also moving south-eastwards across England and Wales, some local impacts from this due to heavy rain and strong, gusty winds. Wet and windy weather clears SE England later in the day, with then most areas having drier and brighter, but showery weather through the afternoon and evening. Mild, but cooler from the west later. Highs 6C to 12C.

Showery weather conditions continue, especially in the north and west, these perhaps wintry by the end of the night across high ground of Scotland, fewer showers across southern and south-eastern areas of England. Lows 3C to 7C.

 
 
 


Thursday
A day of sunshine and showers, especially across more western and south-western areas where the showers locally heavy. Showery across northern areas too and the showers wintry over high ground of Scotland in particular. Fewer showers across eastern and south-eastern areas with some sunny spells. Cooler, if not colder than previous days. Highs 4C to 8C.
 


Friday
A chilly start, perhaps with some frost. Otherwise most of the day will be dry with some bright or sunny spells, few showers in the north and east though and later in the day cloudy and damp weather will develop across Ireland and W Scotland. Highs 3C to 8C.
