Dry, warm and sunny for much of Britain and Ireland. Variable cloud in the west and north. Fronts passing to the north-west of Scotland bring thicker cloud and a risk of rain here, perhaps persistent rain for the Western Isles. Blustery across Scotland, risk of gales over the mountains. Light winds for central & southern Britain. Coastal sea breezes. Some coastal fog around the Irish Sea and south-west. Highs 18 to 23C, locally 25C south. Nearer 16C around many coasts.

Sunday night
Most places staying dry overnight. Variable cloud north & west, probably extensively cloudy in western Scotland. Fairly clear skies for central and south-eastern Britain. Local mist patches forming. Patchy fog around some coasts in the west and south. A chance of dropping cool in the far north of Scotland, with a touch of frost here by dawn, lows 2 to 4C. Around 7 to 9C for southern Scotland and Ireland, but generally mild at 9 to 12C for much of England & Wales.

Bank Holiday Monday
High pressure lies to the east of Britain, but broadly influences the country to bring a fair day. Lots of sunshine for many. Thicker cloud for Scotland & Northern Ireland as a weak warm front edges north. This may bring drizzly rain to the west coast of Scotland. Light winds and coastal sea breezes. A warm south-easterly airflow - 15 to 18C north, but widely 21 to 24C for England and Wales, up to 27C in the south-east. Cooler near the coasts, especially north-east - nearer 14C.

Tuesday
A cold front moves in from the Atlantic, bringing fresher conditions to north-western Britain and much of Ireland. Some showery rain, mostly affecting western Scotland. Sunny spells for much of England and Wales, best around southern coasts, but cloud thickening from the west. A few local showers may trigger off in central-eastern England by afternoon. Highs 13 to 16C north & west, but reaching 22 to 25C in the Midlands & south-east.
