Thursday
High pressure builds from the south across western Europe, with a south to southwesterly airflow prevailing. Fronts over the Atlantic bring cloud and little rain to the far west of Ireland. Patchy drizzle and low cloud around western coasts of Britain too. Most low cloud across central-eastern Britain should break up to give plenty of sun, and feeling warm in soft breezes. Highs 11 to 15C, locally topping 17C for north Wales, northeast England and near the Moray coast.

Thursday night
Staying dry across most places. Variable cloud, with clearest skies toward the east and southeast, however a risk of fog forming in low-lying areas across the Midlands and south. Murky around some western coasts. A brisk southerly breeze in the west and north of Britain, also Ireland. Fronts lying to the west bring some rain to the far west of Ireland and Western Isles. Lowest temperatures 5C or slightly lower for central-southern England & Wales; 7 to 9C in the west and north.

Friday
A very mild southerly airflow prevails. Fronts to the west & northwest bring patchy rain or drizzle to the west of Ireland and west coast of Scotland. Local heavier bursts of rain may track northwards across the Highlands during the day. Otherwise it will be dry, with low cloud or early fog patches breaking to give sunshine, although fairly hazy. Blustery winds in the west, lighter winds in the east. Temperatures reaching 13 to 15C for many, a little cooler near coasts.

Saturday
High pressure to the east maintains a southerly pattern across the country. A weak front moves in from the west, bringing some low cloud and patchy rain for Ireland and later western Scotland. Banks of cloud and drizzle may also drift onto Irish Sea coasts. Early local fog, then dry with lots of sunshine for England and Wales, plus central-eastern Scotland. Breezy in the west and north. Lighter winds southeast. Very mild, 13 to 16C warmer in shelter.
