Monday
Early Monday is going to be starting dry over much of England, Wales and Scotland. Rain and gales already into Ireland after daybreak will be reaching the western half of England, Wales and Scotland by late morning, although the far east of England and northern Scotland probably stay dry until lunchtime. The afternoon sees the strong winds and risk of gales passing through much of Wales, England and Scotland, although still dry in the far north of Scotland. It may also stay dry in the far southeast of England. Snow could affect the hills of central and southern Scotland. Heavy rain will be replaced by blustery showers in Ireland. Highs at 12C in southern England, 10C for many, 8C in northern England and northern Scotland.


Monday Night
Rain passing eastwards through this evening and overnight, the rain heavy in northern England and Scotland with a risk of snow on hills in northern England and Scotland. A further risk of strong winds and gales, these affecting most parts of the country for several hours. Rain becoming more showery in the west, turning drier in Ireland and western Scotland. Lows near 3 to 6C overall, 0C in central Scotland.


Tuesday
Low pressure will be to the east of England on Tuesday. A strong to gale force north to northwest wind will be bringing frequent, heavy showers across much of northern England and Scotland, these pushing into the Midlands, Wales and most of eastern England as well as East Anglia in the afternoon. More scattered showers in the far south of England and southern Wales. Showers may merge to longer spells of rain at times, a risk of thunder too. The winds easing quickly during the day. Highs at 8 to 12C.


Wednesday
Low pressure remains east of England on Wednesday. The northwest flow brings a further mix of sunshine and showers. These showers could be heavy at times, especially in the east. The showers tending to ease through the afternoon with the best of any sunshine tending to be across Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and parts of Wales and western England. Increasing cloud through Ireland and southwest England later. More persistent rain may affect northern Scotland. Highs at 8 to 11C.
