More rain Friday

Thursday
A mild and southwesterly flow affects all parts of the UK and Ireland today. There will be plenty of cloud across all parts of the country with outbreaks of rain, most of it over western coasts and hills. Drier but cloudier to the east with a few spots of drizzle. The rain may become more persistent at times over western coasts and hills as well as Ireland. Rain then spreads into much of England through the evening and early part of the night. Staying drier in northern Scotland. Breezy, especially in the west. Highs at 9C in northern Scotland, 14C in southern England.


Thursday Night
A windy night with rain affecting much of northern and western Scotland. A further band of rain passes east across all areas. The rain could become heavy at the winds increase and widespread gales affect much of the country. Turning more showery over Ireland. Temperatures falling to around 5 to 10C.
 


Friday
A deep area of low pressure over northern Scotland on Friday. This brings a wet and windy morning with widespread gales for many. The rain clears eastern England in the morning although it will persist in western Scotland. Brighter weather follows from the west with strong winds and showers. Most of the showers affecting western coasts and hills, some of them heavy. Severe gales in central and northern Scotland. Highs at 5 to 11C.


Saturday
Low pressure to the east and west of the Uk and Ireland on Saturday. Sunshine and scattered showers in Scotland, some wintry on hills. A windy day with drier weather early on across most other areas. Showers, heavy in western Ireland will gather and move eastwards through the afternoon, most of the rain in Ireland, southern Scotland, northwest England and western Wales. Staying windy in the south. Highs at 13C in southern England, 5C in central Scotland.
