UK Forecast - September 20, 2018
Sunny intervals and showers
Strong, blustery winds

Friday
Low pressure to the east of Northeast England will move away northeastwards with a showery west to northwesterly airstream becoming established across all parts. The last of the overnight rain around Northeast England and the north and east of Scotland moves away quickly in the morning with sunny intervals and blustery showers following. The showers will be most frequent in the north and west, where some may be accompanied by hail or thunder. The west or northwest wind will be strong, reaching near gale, perhaps gale force, in exposed locations. Feeling cool or rather cold in the wind, highs 12 to 15C in the north, 15 to 17C in the south.

Friday Night
The showers become confined to the north and northwest of Scotland, remaining areas drying up with clear spells, although rain is likely to push into Southwest Ireland and, perhaps, parts of Southwest England late in the night. Winds strengths moderate generally but with the north and west tending to remain breezy. Overnight lows a cool 4 to 7C in the north and a couple of degrees or so lower for central parts of Scotland, 8 to 11C in the south.

Saturday
Low pressure extends east across the south of Ireland and, possibly, towards England and Wales later, driving associated frontal troughs east. Rain, becoming heavy at times will move steadily north and east across Ireland, England and Wales, perhaps reaching Southern Scotland too overnight. For Scotland by day sunny intervals and dry in many parts but the north and west will have a few showers. Becoming windy in the south and southwest. A cool day, highs 10 to 16C.

Sunday
Low pressure and associated fronts move east across England and Wales with high pressure becoming centred to the west of Ireland. Rain, some heavy, over Ireland, England and Wales and perhaps Southern Scotland, clearing gradually from the west as sunny intervals and mostly dry weather spread to all areas, although some showers are likely in the north and west, especially over Scotland. Strong winds with the rain over Ireland, England and Wales with a risk of gales in exposed locations. On the chilly side for many parts, highs 10 to 13C in the north and west, 14 to 17C in the southeast and with values depressed in any heavy rain.
