Snow for southern Scandinavia this weekend

Saturday
Low pressure across western Europe brings heavy rain to central & eastern France and northern Italy, plus extensive heavy snow to the west & southern Alps. Showers spread inland from Biscay across western France. Southern Italy stays dry. Another zone of heavy rain spreads from west to east across southern Iberia, although should soon clear from Portugal. Brighter for northern Spain, although showers will affect the Pyrenees, giving locally frequent snow.
High pressure over the Black Sea extends dry and warm weather across eastern Europe. Southerly winds bring highs of 16 to 20C from Greece to Hungary and Romania. Also mild in Germany and Poland, locally 15C, where it should also stay dry. Patchy rain for Denmark, also southern Norway and Sweden, turning more persistent later, increasingly becoming snow for central Sweden. A few showers for the Baltic states. Northern Scandinavia stays dry and cold. Possible snow flurries for Finland.

Sunday
A westerly breeze brings cool and showery conditions to northern Iberia, whilst southern Spain and Portugal should see a dry and warm day, locally 23C in the east of Spain. Heavy rain passes quickly across the western Mediterranean overnight, and will affect Italy and the Balkans during the daytime. South-eastern Europe stays dry and warm, including Greece and areas around the Black Sea.
An unsettled day for France as further fronts spread from the west - persistent rain followed by showers. Rain spreads to the Low Countries and western Germany. Further snow for the Alps, but should fade for a time before turning heavier again from the west later. Meanwhile, eastern Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland should stay dry. Wet for Denmark and coastal fringes of southern Norway & Sweden, whilst inland persistent snow is likely. A cold easterly wind across the Baltic. High pressure resides across northern Scandinavia, bringing dry but very cold weather.
