Headline: Thunderstorms may form across parts of Wales and southern England on Monday afternoon. What To Expect: There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.

Further thunderstorms may form on Monday afternoon.Whilst many areas will miss these and see little or no rain any thunderstorms that do form are likely to be slow moving. These could give 25-35 mm of rain in less than an hour with the potential for 50-60 mm in 2-3 hours were separate storms to affect the same location.Lightning and hail may also be additional hazards.
