Fairly warm but breezy around the Med
Severe gales will affect Biscay coastlines during the day, with one period of strong winds sweeping into western France from mid-late morning, followed by another potentially more active storm system reaching north-western Iberia into the early evening, which will then extend into south-western France by the early hours of Saturday. Pulses of heavy rain will also spread into western Europe from the Atlantic. Meanwhile, southern Spain and Portugal will stay dry, and quite warm, up to 19C in south-east Spain.
Breezy for the western Mediterranean. A few showers for Italy and the Balkans. Some snow for the southern Alps. Mainly dry for Greece and plenty of sunshine for the eastern Med. Largely dry for eastern France and the Low Countries. Patchy rain extends across Germany, Denmark and western Norway. Dry for Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary, 2 to 6C. Some rain affects Romania and Ukraine, snow toward the north. Dry around the Baltic.
Stormy winds in western France will ease, but it will remain windy across western Europe into the daytime. Further heavy rain affects northern Spain and Portugal. Locally very warm in eastern Spanish costas. Some persistent rain for central Italy and the Balkan coasts. Chance of showers in Greece and western Turkey.
Belts of rain spread across France, extending into the Low Countries and western Germany, and turning to snow over the western Alps. Drier toward central-eastern Europe. Rain and snow moves across eastern Ukraine into Russia. A weak front pushes north into southern Scandinavia, bringing rain or drizzle to southern Norway and Sweden - snow over the mountains. Largely dry but cloudy around the Baltic Sea. Some snow flurries for Finland.
