High pressure to the north of the UK with low pressure to the south on Wednesday. Windy and cold in Scotland with rain in the east and south, edging north. The cloud and rain affecting northeast England with another area of rain in central and northern parts of Ireland too. Some showers in southwest England and southern Wales. Dry with brighter spells for the rest of England, central and southern England. Little changes into this afternoon. Feeling cold for all with tops of 8C in southern England, 4C in central Scotland.

Wednesday Night
Rain eases in eastern Scotland overnight, although it stays cloudy and breezy here. More cloud in eastern England with a few spots of rain blowing in from time to time. Drier further west with clearer skies here. Some showers in eastern Ireland with rain in the southwest. A frost forming under the clearer skies in western areas with lows at -1C.
 

Thursday
High pressure remains to the north on Thursday with low pressure to the south. The easterly wind brings cloud and outbreaks of rain into eastern Scotland and the coasts of northeast England. Further showers along the eastern coasts of Ireland. Rain too in the far south of Ireland. Spells of sunshine in central and southern England and Wales as well as central Ireland. Highs at 5 to 8C.

Friday
Low pressure over southern Ireland on Friday with higher pressure to the north of Scotland. A front gives cloud and rain to southern Ireland and southwest England. A further weak occluded front gives rain in Scotland, most of it light and most in eastern Scotland. Broken cloud and a few bright or sunny spells between these two rain areas, just an isolated shower. Highs at a milder 12C in southwest England, more generally 5 to 7C.
