UK Forecast - August 29, 2019
Outbreaks of rain west
Drier, brighter east

Friday
A moist and cloudy southwesterly flow affecting all parts of the UK and Ireland on Friday. This brings lots of mist, fog and drizzle to western coasts and hills. Rain, some of it very heavy, affecting western and northern Ireland, much of Scotland, particularly the southwest, and into northern England later. Brighter in southern and eastern England with some sunny spells. Probably drier in the far north of Scotland too. Highs at 14C in northern Scotland, 23C in East Anglia and the southeast.

Friday Night
Rain moves eastward into eastern Ireland, northwestern England and northwestern Wales through the night and persists over much of Scotland. Some of this will be locally very heavy. It will be breezy too for Ireland and the southern UK. Drier to the south with clearest skies to the southeast. Overnight lows at 7 to 9C in the northwest, 11 to 15C over much of England and Wales.

Saturday
An area of low pressure crosses Scotland on Saturday bringing heavy periods of rain and strong winds. Most of the rain in Scotland, northern England and Wales. The heaviest rain clears to the northeast and southeast through the early afternoon. Showers following from the west with eastern areas tending to be drier with plenty of sunny spells. Highs at 22 or 23C in southeast England, 12 or 13C in northern and central Scotland.

Sunday
Sunday brings a cool and showery day as low pressure is north of Scotland. The northwesterly wind allows for plenty of showers to develop. These will be heavy at times and may merge to give more prolonged periods of rain, especially in the north and west. Fewer showers to the south which is where the best of the sunshine will be too. A breezy day with highs at 11 or 12C in northern Scotland, 18C in southeast England.
