Rain & wind sweep east
Fair start in east

Sunday
A chilly and fair start to the morning through central and eastern areas of England and Scotland today. Wetter to the west and through Wales and Ireland with some heavy periods of rain and gusty winds. This rain and wind will be spreading east during the day, reaching eastern coasts this afternoon. At the same time drier, brighter weather will be blowing into Ireland and eventually western parts of Scotland, Wales and England, although some showers affecting the coasts. Staying windy for all. Highs at 19C in East Anglia, more widely 14 to 16C.


Sunday Night
Wet and windy at first tonight in the east of Scotland and England, the rain clearing into the North Sea. Drier weather following into other areas from the west with the winds staying fresh to strong. A few showers on western coasts and hills, these heavy and more persistent in northern and western Scotland. Lows at 7 to 12C.
 


Monday
Low pressure clears into the northern North Sea on Monday ahead of a ridge of high pressure. A bright morning although rather breezy in northern areas of England, Northern Ireland and Scotland. Showers affecting western Scotland and northwest England, these fading in the late morning and afternoon. Most places are then dry with sunny spells, the best in the east and south. Winds easing through the day. Tops at 14 to 18C in northern and western areas, 23C in southeast England.


Tuesday
High pressure remains over eastern and southern England on Tuesday with low pressure west of Scotland. A cold front brings some showers rain into western Scotland and western Ireland. Brighter for other areas with good spells of sunshine and feeling warm too. Later on a few thundery showers may drift onto southern coasts of England. Tops at 26C in southeast England, widely 21 to 24C in the rest of England, 16 to 20C elsewhere.
