A frontal system coming in from the west brings rain, heaviest for Wales and the southeast, becoming patchier as it reaches eastern England. Spells of rain and drizzle for the northwest of England and western Scotland. Drier and brighter to the east of the hills across northern Britain. Rain for a time across Ireland will clear, but some drizzly showers follow. Breezy, strongest in the west. Highs 13 to 18C.

Monday night
A mild night as south to southwesterly winds continue. Fairly cloudy overall, some cloud breaks toward the east and northeast. Hill fog and drizzle in the west and southwest. Heavier rain is likely to arrive in the southwest of Britain and across Ireland as the night progresses. Strongest winds near southwestern coasts. Given this weather pattern, temperatures will unsurprisingly stay mild, in double figures for most places, lows 10 to 13C.

Tuesday
Southwesterly winds affect Britain and Ireland, drawing in very mild air. A slow-moving frontal system will bring rain to western areas, setting in heavy and prolonged for Wales and western parts of England. Some rain spilling eastwards at times, with a lot of cloud overall. Bright or sunny spells occasionally in eastern counties. Spells of persistent rain also for western Scotland and Ireland. Temperatures widely 14 to 18C, up to 20C in the southeast.

Wednesday
Low pressure affects the British Isles, with heavy rain sweeping eastwards across most of England and Wales through the day. Some brighter spells in Scotland and Ireland, but expect showers to form, locally frequent for a few hours. Occasional improvements for central and eastern England. A windy day in southern areas, risk of gales around the English Channel. Fairly mild in the southeast, turning cooler across the north and west, highs between 11 and 17C.
