Wednesday
With high pressure to the south ridging up towards eastern areas, much of England and Wales will see a mostly dry day with sunny spells. Further north and west expect more cloud cover once again with outbreaks of rain, possibly heavy for a time across west Scotland. Improving conditions across Ireland and Northern Ireland into the afternoon with only patchy rain for Scotland into parts of northern England later. Highs at 15 to 21C in the north and west but between 21 to 25C across much of England.

Thursday
Higher pressure to the south with low pressure remaining northwest of Scotland. The southwest wind brings further broken cloud to western coasts and hills, the risk of some mist at times along southern coasts. Drizzle in western parts of Ireland and western Scotland, although dry in the east. More persistent rain across the Northern Isles. Sunshine breaks through in much of England and Wales and becomes very warm. Western coasts always at risk of some low cloud and mist. Highs at 21 to 25C, 17C in northwest Scotland and cloudier western coasts.
