Tuesday
A dull start to Tuesday over most of England and Wales. Outbreaks of drizzle and patchy rain affects western areas, this lingering into the afternoon. More central, eastern and southern parts of England should become drier and there could be a few brighter spells breaking through the cloud. Increasing winds in Scotland and Ireland with rain moving in. The winds reaching gale force in the morning then severe gales force in the afternoon as it becomes wetter. Highs at 5 ot 6C in England, 7 in western Scotland and 10 in western Ireland later.


Tuesday Night
A front brings rain into northern England and southern Scotland tonight, with damp conditions for Wales, northern England and southwest England too. Staying mostly dry across the southern and eastern Midlands as well as southeast and southern England. Showers in western Scotland and western Ireland, some of them heavy. Drier in eastern Sotland and eastern Ireland. Lows at 1C in central Scotland, to 5C in northern England and Wales.


Wednesday
A cooler westerly flow affecting the UK and Ireland on Wednesday. This brings showers or longer spells of rain to Scotland with some snow over the hills here. Becoming drier in eastern and southern Scotland through the afternoon. Showers too in northern and western Ireland, but again drier to the east. A front brings rain through the eastern and southern Midlands, East Anglia, southern and southeast England in the morning, this only slowly moving east. Brighter weather follows to northern England, Wales and the western Midlands. Tops near 9C in the southeast, 4C in northern Scotland.


Thursday
A shallow area of low pressire crosses England and Wales overnight into Thursday bringing some heavy rain and stronger winds with it. This should clear east during the day with brighter weather then following. Sunny spells and showers in northern and western Scotland as well as the north and west of Ireland. Drier elsewhere with sunny spells and feeling cool at 4 to 9C.
