A band of rain preceded by hill snow clears southern England by Friday morning, followed on by a generally dry and fine morning for many parts with sunny spells. Rain pushes back into southern England, southern areas of Wales and western Scotland during the afternoon, although remaining drier for central and northern England. The rain may turn wintry in western Scotland over the hills for a time. A milder day in the south, with highs of 6 to 9C, but remaining cooler in Scotland, 3 to 6C here.

Friday Night
Rain will gradually clear southern and southeastern parts of England overnight with drier weather behind. Outbreaks of rain across parts of Scotland into northern England as well as west Wales, this clearing southern Scotland by morning. A cool night, with lows of 3 to 6C for England and Wales, 0 to 3C in Scotland.
 

Saturday
Showers continue around western areas of England and Wales on Saturday, although it should remain drier for southern and eastern areas of England. Showers in the west may turn wintry over the hills, particularly in the Lake District and Highlands, and may push inland later on in the day driven by the strong northwesterly breeze. A showery and breezy day along northern coasts of Northern Ireland too. Highs of 5 to 7C in England and Wales. 2 to 6C in Scotland.

Sunday
Low pressure moves away towards the near continent on Sunday, with higher pressure building in from the west to bring more settled conditions. Some showers or longer spells of rain or sleet may affect eastern counties of England and Scotland during the morning, although these will clear by the afternoon. A clear day throughout for most central and western areas with decent spells of sunshine, although feeling cold. Highs of 5 to 7C across England and Wales, 2 to 5C in Scotland.
