New Year's Eve
Outbreaks of rain on new year's eve morning across central and southern Scotland as well as parts of northern England should gradually ease off into the afternoon. Drier across northern Scotland. Rain clearing the southeast of England initially then largely dry across the rest of England and Wales with developing sunny spells as the day progresses here. Some patchy rain to start through Northern Ireland but this should clear here too. A breezy day and with a risk of gale force winds and gusts in the morning through the coasts and hills, easing later on. Highs at a very mild 9 to 15C.


New Year's Eve Night
Overnight, largely dry for most although spells of rain will push in across Ireland, Northern Ireland and then on across Scotland as well as northern England and north Wales later in the night. Winds strengthening too again. Lows at a mild 7 to 13C although cooler still across northern Scotland.
 


New Year's Day
Low pressure northwest of Ireland on New Year's Day. This brings a very mild and windy start to 2022. Periods of rain and drizzle in the west pushng east across England later in the day. Heaviest of it in western Scotland. Tending to be drier with sunny spells in the east. Highs at 13 to 15C.
 


Sunday
Low pressure dominates on Sunday. This brings periods of rain for many areas, particularly further west, but also across Wales, central and southern England as a further shallow area of low pressure quickly crosses the country. It is likely to be breezy too. After starting very mild, slightly cooler air arrives from the west. Highs at a very mild 8 to 13C.
