Showers Monday
Stormy Tuesday

Monday
A cloudy start to the week to the southwest with outbreaks of rain spreading from Ireland into Wales and southwest England. Brighter to the north and east though frequent showers affect northern and southern portions of Scotland as well as northern England. Staying brighter over Scotland and northern England through the afternoon while cloud spreads from southwest Ireland over Northern Ireland, Wales and southern and central parts of England. Scattered showers continue to affect northern and eastern parts of Scotland and the north of England while heavier showers over southern portions of England turn thundery. A deep area of low pressure to the southwest brings heavy rain and strengthening winds into southern portions of Ireland through Monday evening. Highs range from 15 to 22C.

Monday Night
A deep area of low pressure moves into the far west of Ireland overnight with heavy rain spreading across Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales, England and southern Scotland by Tuesday morning. Strengthening winds affect all areas too with winds reaching severe gale force around Ireland's coasts and for Irish Sea coasts of England and Wales. Gusts up to 60mph across southwestern areas through the wee hours, stronger near the coast. Overnight lows at 8C in the north, 15C in the south.

Tuesday
An unsettled day on Tuesday as the low tracks eastwards across Ireland and the UK. An area of rain, which will be very heavy at times, will push northeast with winds strengthening for all. Gale to severe gale force winds affecting coastal regions across the UK and Ireland with gusts inland across southern Ireland up to 70mph through the morning and up to 65mph across Wales and central England during the afternoon. The far north of Scotland and the Northern Isles may well stay dry but most other areas will see rain. Behind the rain band expect a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers for southern Ireland, south Wales and central and southeastern England through the afternoon. Rain peristing for most other areas into the evening. High temperatures range from 13 to 21C.

Wednesday
Low pressure tracks eastwards and fills while high pressure attempts to build in behind to the southwest. A mostly fine and dry day for Ireland with an improving picture across Wales and southern England. A trailing front could mean that parts of Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and the north of England could hold on to showers throughout much of the day and there will be a chilly northerly wind along eastern coasts of the country. Highs at 14C to 21C, cooler to the far north.
