Tuesday
With the broad and main area of low pressure still to the west of the UK, expect showers to continue feeding into western areas and southern coasts, but it should stay largely dry centrally and further east. Showers will largely fizzle out across southwest England and Wales in the afternoon. Cloud and heavy rain pushes into southern Ireland later on as an area of low pressure pushes through the Celtic Sea. Highs at 7 to 11C.

Tuesday night
Rain will spread northwards across Ireland, into Northern Ireland as well as western parts of Scotland where it will be heaviest. Rain also affecting western parts of England and much of Wales. Some central eastern areas of Scotland will too see rain pushing in here. Winds will strengthen to gale force strengths along coasts in the west. Drier conditions elsewhere but turning increasingly cloudy. A chillier night across northern Scotland with lows here reaching zero. Milder elsewhere with lows ranging between 2 and 8C.

Wednesday
Low pressure, now racing north up Ireland, will bring strong to gale force winds initially in the west but these should ease through the day. Rain heaviest across Northern Ireland and Scotland but also with some heavy bursts expected across south Wales and parts of southern and southwest England. Eastern England staying dry through much of the day, but it will be breezy. Staying relatively mild, particularly in the far south. Highs between 7 to 11C.

Thursday
Trailing fronts bringing rain to the far south, central areas of England including Wales, as well as north and west Scotland, will continue in the morning but should fizzle out through the afternoon as a ridge builds. A better day across Ireland and Northern Ireland, however, cloud will thicken and rain will push in by evening. Another relatively milder day with highs between at 8 to 11 or 12C.
