UK Forecast - July 29, 2020
Brief high heat
North wet

Thursday 30/07/20
A warm to very warm day is expected across England, Wales and Ireland. It will be mostly dry with sunshine across England and Wales although cloud and patchy light and drizzle will affect northern parts of Wales first thing and northwest England in the morning. Cloudy and wet over Northern Ireland and Ireland through the morning before drying up from the south here. A wet morning across southern and central Scotland, drier and brighter to the north. The rain however will move in to northern Scotland while the south gradually becomes drier. Highs at a warm 18 to 25C.

Thursday Night
Overnight, it will stay mild and remain dry and fine with clear spells across England and Wales and eastern Ireland. Cloudier skies further north but mainly dry just with that rain gradually clearing to the north of mainland Scotland. The Northern and Western Isles will probably hold on to patchy light rain and drizzle throughout. Heavier spells of rain start to push in across western Ireland and into western parts of Northern Ireland. Temperatures falling to 9 to 16C.

Friday 31/07/20
Heat will build quickly on Friday. With low pressure south of Iceland and high pressure over the North Sea there will be a very warm southeasterly wind blowing up through the UK and Ireland. It will be largely dry although Ireland, Northern Ireland and western Scotland will be under cloudy skies and outbreaks of rain. Cloud could become more widespread across Scotland as the day progresses with some patchy light rain affecting central and eastern areas. Further south, rain could affect some southern and southeastern counties in the afternoon which may become heavy and thundery later on in the evening and overnight in the southeast. Highs of 23 to 30C.

Saturday 01/08/20
With a weak ridge of high pressure building in on Saturday it should be a mostly dry day towards the far south and southeast once any early morning rain clears eastern areas. However, with low pressure northwest of Scotland and a fresh westerly wind showers will be blown in across the north and west. These showers could become more widespread across central areas with some showers potentially reaching into southern areas in the afternoon. Temperatures cool off in the north with highs around 18C while staying warm in the southeast at 25C.
