Getting brighter, warm
Drizzle northwest

Thursday
Broken cloud through Thursday morning over many areas. It should be mostly dry in England, Wales and much of Ireland with some bright spells. These will become stronger into the afternoon with sunny spells then for many. Cloudier skies in much of Scotland, some brightness in the east. Drizzle could affect the hills and coasts of western Scotland as well as western Ireland. This is likely to continue into the afternoon. Feeling warm in the sunshine in the south at 23C, 21C in eastern Scotland and Ireland, but just 14C in northwest Scotland.


Thursday Night
A dry night ahead with broken cloud and some good clear spells. A front moving into northwest Scotland will bring some thicker cloud here with rain at times, this also afecting northwestern parts of Ireland. Most of the rain will be in western Scotland where there will be fog shrouding coasts and hills too. Lows at 8 to 12C.
 


Friday
A fair day and very warm day for Friday over most of England and Wales. Some good spells of sunshine and it should be dry too. Southern and eastern parts of Ireland are likely to be dry too with some broken cloud and sunny spells. A weak front brings cloud and outbreaks of rain into Scotland, northern and western Ireland. The rain turning more persistent into the afternoon, some heavier bursts too. Drier in eastern Scotland, although even here a few spots of rain are likely. Turning cloudier in Cumbria and Northumberland later, some rain on the hills here. A much brighter day for northern Scotland with good spells of sunshine. Highs at a hot 28C in southern England, 21C in southern Ireland, but 16C in the cloudier, wetter areas.


Saturday
Outbreaks of rain passing through northern England and Wales on Saturday, these affecting southern and eastern Ireland too. A few showers and some cloud in the Midlands and southwest England by the afternoon. Drier in the far southeast with sunshine. Brighter and fresher in Scotland and the north and west of Ireland. A few showers in western Scotland, otherwise dry. Highs at 25C in southeast England, more widely 15 to 19C.
