In the afternoon the strongest winds transfer into the south with gusts of 50 mph inland. Outbreaks of moderate to heavy rain are expected across Scotland, Northern Ireland along with western parts of England and Wales. The rain spreads east in the afternoon clearing to showers across Scotland. A fine end to the day across northern England, Northern Ireland and Wales. Highs of 9 to 13 Celsius north to south.

Monday night
Another area of heavy rain spills in across Northern Ireland, western Wales and the West country in the evening. The rain then spreads north into most areas in the night as it becomes drier across southern England. Very windy again overnight with gales in the west. Expect minimums of 5 to 8 Celsius but a much milder 12 Celsius in the south of England.

Tuesday
Again it's an unseasonably mild, unsettled and windy day to come across the United Kingdom. Gales develop with gusts of 70 mph around exposed western coasts, over the Pennines and southern Uplands. Gusts of 50 mph are likely inland. An area of moderate to heavy rain sweeps northward as it turns lighter across the south for a time. We may see the rain intensify across England and Wales later in the afternoon with a risk of flooding in the north west. Tonight the rain will have cleared with showers in the north and around western and southern coasts. A few may become wintry over the Highlands as it turns colder. Expect top temperatures of 10 to 15 Celsius.

Wednesday
Gales likely again today in the north and the west. Overall a dry day to come with sunnier spells but showers will affect the north and the west, these wintry over the hills of northern Scotland. Another area of heavy rain crosses Scotland and Northern Ireland and affecting northern England, Wales and the south west in the night. Again gusts to 70 mph are possible over the northern hills and England, Wales and southern Scotland with gusts of 50 mph possible inland. Expect top temperatures of 8 to 11 Celsius.
