Tuesday
Rain clearing eastern England this morning. Drier and brighter weather affects much of the rest of England and eastern Scotland as well as eastern Wales. A band of rain reaches Ireland in the morning, then moves into western Scotland and western England as well as Wales for the afternoon. Cloud and rain the affects much of Scotland this afternoon, some wintry on the hills, as well as northwest England. Western Wales may also see outbreaks of rain, although most central eastern areas should be staying dry and bright. Highs near 9 to 12C.


Tuesday night
Showery rain fades from Scotland this evening, but then more rain arrives through Ireland and into northwest England and Wales later in the night. Staying dry across southern England, and through central and eastern Scotland too. Some cloud and outbreaks of rain in western Scotland later. Lows at 3 to 7C.
 


Wednesday
Low pressure northwest of Scotland on Wednesday drives fronts eastwards. There will be severe gales in Scotland and Ireland as well as northern England. Cloud and rain in northern and western Scotland as well as Ireland. Some drizzle or light rain across northwest England. Mostly dry for more central, eastern and southern parts of England, together with eastern Scotland. Highs at a mild 9 to 12C.


Thursday
Low pressure stays to the north of the country on Thursday. This brings a band of rain eastwards, some of it heavy at times across England and Wales. A further area of rain for northern and western Scotland, reaching Northern Ireland later. The threat of a period of very strong winds in Scotland. Tops near 7 to 12C.
