Friday
Rain across the far south of England continues on and off through the course of today, feeling cold here too. Brighter for much of East Wales, central and eastern England with a few sunny spells. Showers and longer spells of rain for western Scotland and Northern Ireland, these reaching northwest England too, although tending to fade. Sleet or snow over the hills. Drier in more eastern areas with some sunny spells here. A breezy day in the north. Temperatures at 6 to 11C.

Friday night
A chilly night over much of northern Britain. Showers should be fading away, although there could be some over the high ground of Scotland. Clearer spells elsewhere and a touch of frost developing. Thicker cloud and some spots of rain reaching southern Ireland and southwest England in the early hours, this then edging slowly north. Lows of 0 to 5C.
 

Saturday
Low pressure and its associated front is expected to be pushing north through Ireland, Wales and western England through Friday. This brings rain with it and there is a risk of it turning heavy for a time. This could enhance the flooding problems in parts of Cumbria. The rain turns more drizzly across southern and central England in the afternoon as it becomes windy. Cooler, drier weather in much of central and northern Scotland, but rain in the south may well begin as snow on its northern edge. Highs at 4C in parts of southern Scotland, 12C in southern England.

Sunday
Low pressure west of Ireland on Sunday with a warm front passing north. This brings more rain into Ireland, Wales and western England, some heavy once again. Drier although mostly cloudy in the south as the front clears north, but some drizzle over western and southern coasts and hills. Drier too in Scotland, but then rain arriving from the south, most in the west. Tops at 6 to 12C.
